OK, I know - using pre-season numbers to predict regular season success is a trap that most astute fantasy footballer know to avoid. However, pre-season looks combined with camp buzz can give us a few clues about roles that may be changing.
Brandon Jacobs started for the Giants, reeled off a 27 yard run, then left the game after just 2 carries. The other Giant running backs were wholly unimpressive. Despite all the talk of a time share in the Giants backfield, I am getting the feeling that Jacobs will start and play plenty while he is not injured. So I am increasing his carries from 200 to 250. Ahmad Bradshaw's carries go down from 150 to 115.
There has been a lot buzz in Saints camp about the improvement of last year's number 1 pick Robert Meachem. He started in place of the injured Marques Colston, and went on to catch 4 passes for 129 yards and a TD. I'm increasing Meachem's catches from 18 to 33, at the expense of David Patten.
