Chicago - Detriot Game Notes

Kyle Orton (24 of 34 for 334 yards, 2 TDs) had a nice day, but doesn't everyone against the Lions? Still, his adjusted stats for True Player Value are 311 yards with 1 TD. He has 7 TDs vs. 4 Ints on the season, and is a definite improvement on anything else the Bears have put out at QB in a while (including a younger version of himself).

Matt Forte (15 carries for 36 yards) had his second consecutive bad game, and hasn't topped 4.0 yards per carry since week 1. Kevin Jones had only 36 yards on 10 carries, so it will be interesting to see if he continues to cut into Forte's workload. Forte's TPV-adjusted yardage against the Lions was only 22 yards.

It's not real clear who will be leading the Lions offense by the end of the year, but Dan Orlovsky's high ankle sprain has saved Kitna's job, at least for a few weeks, unless the staff feels Drew Stanton is ready. Unfortunately, Roy Williams and Calvin Johnson should be downgraded for the rest of the year as this drama plays out.

I guess the squeeky wheel really does get the grease. Roy Williams (7 catches for 96 yards) was targeted 19 times during Sunday's game, compared to 6 for Calvin Johnson (2 catches for 16 yards). This bears watching, but it's not time for Johnson owners to panic yet.

Kevin Smith (12 touches) and Rudi Johnson (8 touches) were back to a time-share in this game, making neither one of them very valuable.
