Micheal Pitmann, RB, DEN (owned in 57% of leagues). Pittman filled in for a hurting Selvin Young and got all of the carries in the Broncos backfield, carrying 20 times for 109 yards. He also caught 3 passes for 16 yards. He has earned a bigger role in the offense, but whether Shanahan will actually give it to him remains to be seen.
Matt Ryan, QB, ATL (owned in 47% of leagues). It looks like the Falcons coaching staff already have the confidence to put the game in Ryan's hands. Tony Romo owners might want to look here instead of at Brad Johnson for relief. After a bye week (OK, there's no help there), he faces Philadelphia (87% Defensive Passing TPV), Oakland (110%), and New Orleans (120%), so he could be a better fill in for weeks 9 and 10 than Johnson, who faces the Giants (94%) and a bye on those weeks.
Sammy Morris, RB, NE (owned in 65% of leagues). Morris gets the start tonight with Laurence Maroney out with a shoulder, but the truth is, the Patriots coaches have lost all confidence in Maroney, and tonight is Morris' big chance to see if he can be the main back. He will continue to lose snaps to Kevin Faulk and Heath Evans, but he has the chance to carve out a nice role for himself.
Devin Hester, WR, CHI (owned in 37% of leagues). Hester has 11 catches over the last two weeks, so he is starting to get some marginal value as a receiver. Of course, the kicker is his value as a return man, but now he looks like he will be able to provide a few points during the weeks when he doesn't take one to the house.
Dominic Rhodes, RB, Joseph Addai and Mike Hart both got injured in Sunday's game. Addai's injury did not look very serious, but Hart's did. We should know more by Monday, but it appears that Rhodes' role could increase either a little or a lot. His 25 carries (for 73 yards) against Baltimore show that the Colts coaches are not afraid to use Rhodes when they need to.
Brad Johnson, QB, DAL (owned in 1% of leagues). I really wouldn't pick him up unless you have Romo or are desperate for a bye-week starter in week 7. I will write a complete article on Johnson later on tonight.
