Sabah Bersatu affirms stance

KOTA KINABALU: Sabah Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia is reiterating its support for Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin (pic) as the Prime Minister and president of the party.

Despite the political uncertainty, Sabah Bersatu chief Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor said they were firmly behind Muhyiddin as the party’s leader.

He added that this support had not wavered since Bersatu’s supreme council meeting on Feb 23 when a majority of them agreed to leave Pakatan Harapan.

“It is obvious that Tan Sri Muhyiddin has made the right move because it was based on the voices of the majority of the Bersatu supreme leadership council, ” he said in a statement.

He said Sabah Bersatu also wanted Muhyiddin to be given the opportunity and trust to lead the nation, and to continue striving to manage and stabilise the government as well as to unite the people of this country.

Muhyiddin should be given a fair chance to lead the nation as it battled various challenges including the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, Hajiji added.

“The people and the country need Muhyiddin and his Cabinet team to manage the country in facing the threat of the Covid-19 pandemic and the great challenges related to the economy and unity among the people.

“We hope Muhyiddin and Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad can iron out their political differences for the sake of the people and the country, ” Hajiji said.
